Twigwood Camp and Forest has been owned by the same family for many years, and the forest has been well managed for both sugaring and the occasional timber harvest. The compound includes a camp built in the 1980's, a good-sized sugarhouse that produced up to 200 gallons of syrup a year, and an open garage big enough to house cars, trucks or tractors. Internally the camp is all on one floor, with high ceilings which showcase the structures peeled pine architecture. There is a separate wing for sleeping with two rooms set up with bunk beds. These rooms could be made into two distinct bedrooms as well. The kitchen has running water from a spring fed well, and there are gas lights throughout the camp. There is a gas cook stove, a wood cook stove, a gas-powered refrigerator, plus a bathroom with a sink and toilet. The septic system was not designed for long-term use as there is not much of a leach field, so a new system would need to be installed. Although the camp is not insulated, it has been used year-round as the wood stove puts out plenty of heat to warm the entire camp. Outside the rest of the compound area has a sugarhouse and garage, and a mowed lawn surrounding a spring fed pond. The pond is about 9-10 feet deep and has been periodically stocked with brook trout over the years. The sugarhouse could be an excellent opportunity for someone to once again startup a hobby sugarbush. The new owners will have a great property to use and enjoy for years to come.
